HRCR Car HUT 806D

Jabba is our 1966 MGB GT. Designed by Pininfarina, we think she is beautiful. Purchased by us in November last year, we had been searching for a 1967 or earlier GT with steel wheels for use in historic road rallying. The car is on its original engine and gearbox (a 3 synchro) and comes with overdrive.

Very few modifications are required by Motorsports UK for historic road rally and all must be in keeping with the specific period of the car. We have chosen to have head rests, harnesses, a fire extinguisher and a sump guard. We also carry a stopwatch and a trip meter accurate to 1/100 of a mile as the public highway sections are based on hitting a specified average speed between controls or specific locations, measured to the second. The additional tests take place on private land including airfields, quarries and farmers tracks.

Currently 4th novice crew and remaining in the top half of the championship throughout our first year, it's refreshing to find what can be achieved with minimal preparation and just 64bhp at the wheels. The event and championship organisers, and the other competitors, have been friendly, helpful and welcoming.
