Berlinette Jacques Coune

56 Berlinettes were built by the “Carrosserie Jacques Coune” – Brussels from end 1963 till end 1966.

There are 17 surviving cars, most of them restored.
(15 complete cars and two basket cases). 6 Berlinettes are located
in Belgium. 2 are part of the Family Coune Collection including
the famous and historical RHD CBW 55B.

This “Dark Silver” Berlinette has always been registered in Belgium since 1965. Like all Counes you can note some deferent finishing details as the cars were handmade and according to the client taste and wishes.

This car is equipped with custom made black leather interior including seats, folding child seat (option) and special door panels.
Some cars kept the standard MGB interior and even the MGB steering wheel. Les Leston wooden steering wheel being an option.

The engines were not modified however an Abarth dual exhaust was always installed for the looks and typical music…
Jacques Coune was also the first agent in the world for Carlo Abarth.

The car has been completely concourse restored some years ago by the leading Belgian classic car specialist Marreyt/Twin Cam.

This Berlinette was displayed at the Silverstone MG90 Event and received much attention. Several press articles about the “Dark Silver”
Berlinette has been published in classic car magazines and in the book “Classic MG Cars” by Ross Alkureishi.
