‘ELVIS’ as he’s affectionately known was bought new in 1971.

In 1974 we toured most of Europe over a three-week period reaching as far as Italy and Switzerland. The car never missed a beat and I fell in love with Ken Costello’s handiwork and foresight in making such a fantastic vehicle.

The powers at MG said a V8 couldn’t be shoe horned into an MGB body without it being 9 inches wider....well 51 years later ‘ELVIS’ is living proof it could be and was done !

One of only 4 surviving Mk 1 Costello Roadsters with the tell tale bonnet bulge covering the SU Carburettors, and this car has unique flared rear arches.

I hope it will be many years before ‘ELVIS leaves the building’, and it’s a privilege today to have Ken Costello remembered for his excellence in bringing the MGB V8 vision to reality at the MGB 60 Anniversary.

Thankyou Ken!
