This story starts 9th to 13th January 1967, two cars were built in Mineral Blue special order Blue interior. They were assigned consecutive chassis numbers, 116942 & 116943 and left Abingdon together for University Motors London 25th January, this is when the cars start to take a different journey in their lives……… until now.
116942 was sold early, 13th February, given personal plates to initial owners eventually gaining its Buck’s registration AKX 24E.
116943 stayed at its Central London dealership until 3rd October, assigned its London registration SYP 894F.
The cars have not met since they arrived at UM over 55 years ago - until today to mark the 60th anniversary of the MGB here at Gaydon MGB 60.
